The simple answer is why not. But the truth is I don’t know. I have been blessed to have inherited my father’s sense of humor, and I have always had a need for attention. Those two combine nicely for a foundation as a stand up comic.
Comedy has afforded me the honor of traveling the country meeting new friends, and entertaining the masses. Something that I consider a true honor and a pleasure
Since discovering the Comedy Caravan in Louisville Kentucky in 1997, I have found my true calling in life. It might sound simple but there are a bunch of former employers that would agree with me. There is nothing more pleasureable for me than to stand in front of a crowd of people and entertain.
My comedy debut came as a result of a dare. I had been working at The Comedy Caravan in Louisville, KY as a bouncer and had gotten frustrated at the constant use of profanity and other obscenities coming from the stage on open mic nights. I just believe that you can be funny and clean. It worked for Bob Hope, Sinbad, Bill Cosby and others why couldn’t it work. So I accepted the dare and have been performing since.
Originally my plan was just to prove to some local comedians that you could be clean as well as funny. They encouraged me to continue and this is the result. Comedy is a wonderful way to meet people and discover the commonalities we have while laughing the whole time. I see comedy as the common denominator for us. When we laugh as a group we tend to look at each other differently because we have bonded over humor. For a brief instance we have forgotten the differences we have and revel in the fun that laughter brings.
To tell the truth I have wanted to be a comedian all of my adult life but fear kept me from it. Since answering that dare to go onstage, I have found comedy not only to be fun but to be my calling as well.
I look forward to performing for you.
